Standard Cleaning in Forest Hills Gardens, Queens

Standard Cleaning for Forest Hills Gardens Homes

The Gardens is a 1909 planned suburb of Tudor Revival houses on private, winding streets, and the interiors are full of things that don't forgive an aggressive product: oak beams and paneling, leaded and stained glass, original casement windows, plaster ceilings, tiled mantels and heavy hardwood floors. A Standard Cleaning here uses neutral soap on the wood, a soft dry cloth on the glass, non-abrasives on old tile and enamel, and we ask about any material we're unsure of before touching it.

The clean itself is thorough and predictable. Kitchen counters, stovetop, sink and appliance exteriors sanitized; bathrooms scrubbed and disinfected with attention to the grout lines in older tile; floors vacuumed and damp-mopped; every reachable surface dusted, including the beams, sills and paneling that collect a fine film in an older house; interior glass wiped gently; trash emptied; beds made and rooms tidied. For a whole house we size the team so every floor is finished in one visit, and we work quietly and leave things exactly where we found them.

Gardens households tend to be long-tenured, and so are their arrangements with us — many have been on a weekly or bi-weekly plan for years. You don't need to be home; a key or a lockbox is all we need, and every cleaner is trusted and vetted. The rate is flat and confirmed before we arrive, with no surcharge for stairs or floors, and if anything falls short, tell us within 24 hours and we'll return at no charge. Our office on Queens Boulevard is a few minutes north.
